New Home

We finally found a place to live! We love that it is very close to where Charlie works, and it's right next to a ton a shopping and restaurants. Here are a few pictures:
This is looking through the hallway from the guest bedroom. The entry is on the right and the living and dining room and master bedroom are to the left.

Our new kitchen!

I can't wait to get around to the decorating. Luckily, I won't have anything to do all summer (except find a job, of course) so I can spend a lot of time on it. The balcony is HUGE and I can't wait to get a table out there and have summer parties!

School is out in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm so excited I can barely stand it. All I have to do is finish my 20pp. research paper (only 3 pages and some editing left!), my portfolio, and my lesson plan notebook and I'm DONE. I will never have to write another paper for school again in my life and it feels so good! I've been so busy I keep forgetting how close it all is.

I went to a job fair this weekend, and it was so packed I could barely even move. Schools would have one posting (if that) and the line would be 30 people deep. It was discouraging at first, and I almost left, but ended up staying for 3 hours. I still didn't get my resumes to all the schools, but I did the best I could. My strategy was to talk with the schools that weren't hiring since they had no lines and their resume piles were significantly smaller. A lot of them said they would probably have openings later on in the summer, so it's not all bad news. I have a giant job fair coming up this Monday. There will be 60 school districts there, so I can't even imagine the number of people that I will be competing with at that one!

  1. How cute!! I love it! You are going to have so much decorating!

I am not sure exactly what grade you are looking for, but can you teach at private schools? My neice went to Carpe Diem in Plano and Frisco for 3 years until she started 1st grade and loved it. I picked her up a couple of times and the teachers all looked just like you: young/fun/sweet/cute...

A couple I can think of off the top of my head in that area are Carpe Diem, Creme de la creme (what a pompous name, right?!?!), and Primrose. In undergrad I knew a guy whose dad owned primrose I think. If you want me to check that out I can get back on facebook (deactivated for finals) to contact him and get more info.

Good luck with everything... just 2 weeks to go! You can suffer through anything for 2 weeks!
