mix and match

I love the look of dining room furniture that looks put together over time. Currently, we have a dining set that was bought together and I'm looking for ways to make it look not so matchy. I could show you a million pictures of dining rooms that I love, but these are currently my favorite. I think it's perfect how none of it "goes together" yet it still works perfectly.

I'm currently still working on ours, but I should be done pretty soon. I'll share pictures asap!

I tested out one of my chairs in the dining room...

and then came home to this. Toby had destroyed my new sheepskin!

He knew he was in trouble here, and stayed as far away from us as possible. Good thing he's cute, especially in his pathetic little cone. 

We also did a lot of decorating and spring cleaning around the house, and I sold a ton of stuff on Craigslist. I'm meeting people almost every day this week to get rid of something! Our house is almost clutter free!!

Here are just a few things on my wish list for our home.

These. Sheets. I've been searching and searching for a more affordable version of these for our bedroom, but I'm thisclose to breaking down and buying these.

 

Vulgar? Yes, but I want it really, really badly for our bedroom.

 

Kite Kilim Rug for our entryway.

This pillow is different, but there is just something about it that makes me want it so very much!

 

Greek key roman shades for the small window in our living room. I found an easy DIY for these that I plan to make as soon as I'm out of school in May!

 

This gold flatware makes me swoon. I almost purchased it, and then chickened out. It's now been out of stock for a few months, and I'm regretting my hesitation!

This chair is by Jan Showers, which I obvs would never be able to afford, but it seems like this look wouldn't be too difficult to recreate. 

 

Again, I would have to buy a replica of this baby. 

 

I didn't like the look of the ghost chairs in place of the love seat, so I'm thinking about mixing two different chairs similar to the styles above instead? 

Last, but not least... a new couch. We're still deciding on this one. These are the two options that we keep coming back to, but we just can't seem to find THE one.

P.S. I kept the ghost chairs, they just found new homes.

My car was packed to the brim with our clutter going into a garage sale, so Toby didn't have a  place to lay down during our trip up to Oklahoma. We looked back and saw him like this. Poor guy. P.S. check out his new doggie seat belt!

This weekend we bought this greek key console for a great price from Joss & Main to replace the expedit in our dining room.

 

I also found this lamp that I've been eyeing forever on sale for $50 off, so I couldn't resist getting it for our new bar area!  

 

I just had this art framed and it will be up in the dining room soon, too. Pics coming!

I need help! I've found this brass/glass coffee table that I think I might like for only $40, but I just can't decide.

Love mint in the wardrobe and at home. I think the mint + gold combo is especially yummy.

before & after

Sometimes I get frustrated and feel like our apartment isn't coming together the way I imagined, but after looking at these pictures it's crazy to see how much our apartment has changed since last year. There is still a ton I want to do, but at least you can see some progress. Here are a couple before and after pictures. I'm going to post before/after pics of our bedrooms soon, too!
