I can't stop looking at this space from Erika Brechtel of Small Shop Studio. I originally found and fell in love with her dining room last year, and used it as inspiration for mine. Now, thanks to Pinterest I've found the rest of her home, and it's just as wonderful as her dining room.

marfa road trip

Sorry I've been MIA lately. The end of the school year is always cray, plus I got sick with (another) horrible cold. Darn those kiddos and their germs! Anyway, I'm officially on summer break and I'm back!
Today I've been planning our anniversary road trip. I had originally wanted to go back to the Keys, but with a family vacay to Florida in the works, I figured we'd save it for another time. Instead, we're heading west. Our first stop will be Marfa, TX. You know, home to the Prada sculpture that I've been dying to see ever since seeing this sign on Gossip Girl.

Also, home of the Marfa Mystery Lights. I really hope they show for us!

There are so many hipsteriffic places to stay in Marfa. We're trying to decide on a yurt,

vintage trailer, 

or the Thunderbird Hotel.

We'll also be eating here. Where you order from a truck,

 and eat inside of a bus that was transformed into a dining car. I mean, come on! 

This is serious road trip stuff!

weekend

So very happy it's the weekend. It feels like it's taken an especially long time to get here this week. Our plans include:

*West Elm's pop-up flower shop to load up on fresh flowers, and to buy this rug for our entry.

*Texas Food Truck Festival for lunch. Nothing can describe how giddy we get for food trucks!

*Trying to fix my indoor tree situation.

*Some al fresco dining at our fave local spot.
